Dynamic Tariff Charging

How Dynamic Tariff Charging works and how it helps you save on energy bills.

Updated yesterday

Dynamic Tariff Charging is a Tariff Management mode.

When used, the chargers in the location will only charge when the energy prices are low enough.

Using Dynamic Tariff Charging

This mode is location-based, so you find them in the location's Smart Charging settings, not in the charger settings.

App

Go to Overview > Tariff charging > Dynamic Tariff Charging.

Web Portal

Go to Locations > View > Dynamic Tariff Charging.

You can now set the desired price limit or use Smart Mode to let us calculate a good limit for you.

When the current energy price is above the set limit, the chargers in the location will not offer power.

How Dynamic Tariff Charging works

All contracts are supported

Plugchoice gathers the live energy price in your region via the ENTSO-E platform. This gives us the bare price of energy. If available, taxes in your region are then included. Any provider-specific chargers are excluded, as we are not familiar with them.

How prices are gathered

Prices are set with intervals of 15 minutes, though your energy provider may (still) use intervals of 60 minutes.

Prices are usually published for the next day (00:00-23:59) at around 12:00-13:00 the day prior. So if you're looking at our graphs before that time, the prices may still be missing.
