How does charging on Live energy prices work?
This function, dubbed "Smart Charging" in the app, can be set in 2 variants:
Dynamic Pricing: Adjust charging scheme based on the current market rate of energy.
โOff Peak: Manually create a charging scheme if you have a High and Low tariff set by your energy provider.
Charging on Dynamic Energy Tariffs
How it works
You set a limit price. When the price is above the limit, the charger will not charge. When the price is below the limit, the charger will resume charging.
This is how it looks:
Dotted line: The limit you have set. You can adjust it with the slider at the bottom.
Solid line: The market price of energy
Green dot: The current price
Smart Mode
If you don't want to manually set limits all the time, you can use Smart Mode which automatically calculates a good charging schedule by following the median price:
Contract independent pricing - how we calculate the current rates
Depending on the country your charger is in, we will get the "bare" energy price and add tariffs and taxes. We do not add any additional charges set by your provider. So:
+ Market Price
+ Taxes
- Energy provider-specific charges
Off Peak
With this function, you can basically set times at which the charger may and may not charger. This is setup manually and if your energy contract changes, you should not forget to change this setting.
