Charger and connector status explained

What the (connection) status of chargers and connectors mean

To quickly identify the status of a charger, various labels can be found throughout Plugchoice's app and web portal.

  • Connection status: The internet connectivity status of the charger

  • Status: The operational status of a charger or its connector(s)


Charger v/s connector explained

The charger is the charge point itself, and the connector is one of its outlets.

Connection status

The connection status is applied to chargers and reflects whether the charger is connected to the Plugchoice platform. If it's offline, it doesn't mean the charger doesn't have a working internet connection, it's just that the charger is currently disconnected.

The charger is currently connected to Plugchoice.

Offline

Charger

The charger is currently not connected to Plugchoice, but it has been online before.

Preregistered

Charger

The charger is currently not connected to Plugchoice, and it has never been online before.


Status

The status is an operational indicator and can apply to a charger or its connector.

The car is connected.

AND

The card is authorized.

The charger is not offering power.

Charging

The car is charging.

Finished

Connector

The transaction has finished, but the car is still connected.

Faulted

Charger & Connector

The charger or connector is in an error state.

Locked (Unavailable)

Charger & connector

The charger or connector is unavailable, possible due to the Lock Charger setting.

Reserved

Connector

The charger or connector is reserved for a specific vehicle or user.
