About the Organisation account type and how it works.

Updated over a week ago

An Organisation is an account type found in the Volt Time Cloud. This is different from a User, which is always a single person.

There are 2 types:

  • Personal Account

  • Organisation

You always have the same User account. With this account, you can take part in 1 Personal Account and an unlimited number of Organisations.

In the Web Portal, in the top left, you can switch between organisations:

If you are installing or servicing, double check that you are not using your Personal Account! Make sure to switch to the correct Organisation.

There differences between these account types are:

When should you create an Organisation?

You should create one if you expect others to join your account in the future. For instance if you're an installer and maybe you want a new employee to join you later.

Definitely create one when you are:

End-users:

  • A companies

  • Home Owner's Associations

Professional users:

  • Installers

  • Sellers

  • CPOs

  • Developers

  • OEMs

Organisation "Type" - does it matter?

At the moment, it doesn't matter which Organisation Type you select during registration. But it will matter in the future, when we may optimise the UI and experience for you.
