Smart Charging

What's Smart Charging, really?

Updated today

With Smart Charging, we mean everything related to optimized charging. So whether it's based on your own consumption, solar panel production or energy contract type.

Plugchoice offers the following Smart Charging solutions:

Smart Charging features - in short

Power Management

Dynamic Load Balancing: Automatically allocate power to the charger based on other power consumers in the location to protect the fuse.

Power Sharing: Automatically share the allocated power to multiple chargers/connectors in the same location.

Peak Shaving: Manually further reduce the location's maximum current to avoid peak usage taxes.

Solar Balancing: Charge on excess solar power only.

Tariff based charging

Charging on dynamic energy tariffs: Automatically start or stop charging based on the live energy price. For if you have a dynamic contract.

Scheduled charging: Manually set a start and stop time based on your energy high/low tarriffs. For if you have a variable contract.

These settings are group based, so you find them in the location settings, not in the charger settings.
