Chargers often have card readers that can scan your charge card or tag. This is used to start charging transactions.
By adding cards to a location, you can use them to authorize charging transactions for all chargers in the location. Another benefit is that by adding a card to the location, you can then make use of Autostart and Remote Start, which require a card UID.
Adding cards to a location
You can add any RFID card you want. So this can be a real charge card, but also your gym membership card for instance. Any RFID card will work. There are two ways to add cards to a location.
Via charger's card reader
The easiest way is to use the card reader of one of the chargers in the location.

Go to Locations > View > Cards and press Add Card.
Give the card a name, this is just for your reference. You can then scan your card at one of the chargers in the location. Wait a moment and the card should then be added.
Be careful, the first next card scanned will be added. To avoid accidentally adding the wrong card, make sure nobody else at the location is currently scanning a different card.
Manually adding cards
If you don't have access to the chargers now, or if your charger doesn't have a card reader, it's possible to add cards by their card UID. This number is different from the card contract number and is not visible on the card or tag.
More about card UIDs and how to find them
Manually adding cards is only possible in Web Portal.

Deleting cards
If you are the owner of the location, or member with full access, you can also delete cards from the location.
Keep in mind that in order to use Autostart or Remote Start, you must at least have one card added to your location.

When using a billing provider
If your charger is connected to a billing provider, it is important that the card is also accepted by them. Otherwise, the transaction will not start or can be ended prematurely.
You can still add cards to the location to make use of Autostart and Remote Start, it's just that the billing provider ultimately is the one accepting or rejecting your card.

At the moment, this is not possible. All cards added to the location will be accepted by all chargers in that location.

Which cards can I add?
Any RFID card will work, as long as it carries at least a MiFare Classic 1K chip. Public charge cards always have this chip, but also some cards like your gym membership card or the tag you use to open your driveway's gate, for instance.

My card still gets rejected, what's wrong?
My card still gets rejected, what's wrong?
If a billing provider is connected to your charger, check if the card is known by them.
Otherwise, make sure the card you're scanning is really added to the location. It's easy to get things mixed up.
Lastly, something else may be wrong. Perhaps your charger's card reader is not working or the card gets accepted but the charger doesn't recognize your car.

Can I add my phone, credit card or NFC tag?
Can I add my phone, credit card or NFC tag?
Usually not, as the card readers on chargers are very basic. They often only accept basic RFID cards. Your phone and credit card are too secure and many charger card readers cannot scan them.
