Charger doesn't recognise car

What to do in case your charger doesn't communicate with your car

Updated over a week ago

How to check if there is a connection issue between the charger and your car

Option 1: When using a charging card

  1. Swipe your charging card. The charger should go from "Available" (green) to "Preparing" (yellow).

  2. Plug in your car. If the charger stays "Preparing", it means the charger does not see the car.

Option 2: When using Plug & Charge

  1. Plug in your car. If the charger stays "Available" (green), it means the charger does not see the car.

How to solve

Some options:

  1. Make sure your car's charging port is fully unlocked. The locking pin may block the charging cable from fully entering the charging port.

  2. Check your car's charging port for dirt or corrosion.

  3. Check your charging cable for dirt or corrosion.

  4. If you use your own charging cable, try a different one.

If this fails, there may be a problem with your car or with the charging cable. Contact your installer.
