Commands explained

What commands are and how to send commands to your charger.

Updated today

With commands, you can do the following with chargers:

  • Reset a charger

  • Start a transaction

  • Lock the charger

How to use commands

Commands are scattered throughout the web portal. You can also send commands in the app, but these are very limited.

App

Commands in the app are limited to basic functionalities:

Basic commands

In the web portal, you can access the basic commands by going to Chargers > View > Actions in the top rightof your screen.

Command

What it does

Reset

Hard-resets the charger. It will go offline. This will not power cycle the charger, so it's different from rebooting the charger.

Start or end transaction

Download diagnostics

This downloads the charger's diagnostic files, what you get depends on the charger.

Lock charger

This sets the charger's connectors to unavailable, see Lock Charger.

Advanced commands

Our basic commands are just an overlay. What's really happening, is that in the background we send OCPP commands to the charger. You can send these yourself by going to Chargers > View > Commands.
